DATABASES

Four SAAM research databases with records that describe American Artwork:

  1. Art Inventories Catalog. It includes records for outdoor sculpture as part of the Inventory of American Sculpture.
  2. SAAM Permanent Art Collection (TMS). You can search by artist name -- and on the search results page, click on “artworks” to limit the search results to just the collection objects. If you click on the artwork title, you will go to the full record with all the descriptive information (artist, title, date, medium, dimensions, classification, credit line, subjects, inscriptions, and object number).
  3. Pre-1877 Art Exhibition Catalogue Index
  4. Photography Study Collection
